BYC 2018, week 1, Wednesday

Our hands were all full today, so no pictures.  That's the way it goes!  :)

Here's a summary of what we did together.

Our project choices were

Butterfly fold painting
God's eyes
Bean collages
White putty coil pots
(it you are looking for a project at home, this putty is paintable!)

After snack we decorated and assembled some toilet paper tube telescopes.  First the kids discovered that they can also be used as microphones.  So of course we sang The Itsy Bitsy Spider (no mics) followed by a rousing round of The Great Big Spider with our newly found Great Big Voices!
(Sometimes the spontaneous discoveries and learning are just the most fun!)

With our telescopes we took a very quiet walk around the yard and took opportunities to sit, listen, and look for birds.  The kids were quite dedicated to the task at hand and we saw quite a few!

Next we acted out Caps for Sale!

We ended with one my favorite folk dances, Floating Down the River.
