Hello and welcome to Back Yard Club!
Each day we spend some time singing and reading stories together to start.
After that we head over to the art area where the kids can choose between four projects as well as painting and drawing at the easels.
Today's project choices were:
Butterfly fold painting
Leather initial necklace
Bean collage
Playdough free play
After art time we enjoyed our snacks together.
Next we sat under our old oak tree and read A Grand Old Tree.
We went on a nature walk in small groups and gathered leaves and small nature treasures to put in a window hanging.
Next we read our story that we'll be acting out for you on Friday:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Last, we enjoyed some folk dancing! We learned a simple circle dance to "The Noble Duke of York," and played "London Bridge is Falling Down." We also did a dance/game called "We're Floating Down the River," which has a slow, mellow section and a quick, energetic section with lots of jumping!
