Week 1, Monday

Hello Back Yard Club families!

We are all so happy to have had such a great Monday at camp!
I like to snatch pictures when I can so you can see what your kids are up to all morning. :)
Enjoy these pictures and a little synopsis of the day.

Every day at Back Yard Club we start with stories and songs.

Next the kids get to choose, at their own pace, from a variety of art projects.

Today's projects were:

Butterfly fold painting
Wood medallion necklace
Bean collage
Clay--free play

Easel painting and drawing are available every day.

Next we had snack, followed by reading Grand Old Tree.
We then headed out for a nature walk.
We found leaves from our own grand old trees and baby trees
as well as other tiny nature treasures to put into a window hanging.

We had a few extra minutes to play a game where we move across the grass pretending to be different animals. These guys are lions, can you tell by their smiles!?

Turtles here.

We ended the day hearing our story-of-the-week that we'll be acting out for you on Friday
and dancing!  We learned a simple circle dance to "The Noble Duke of York" as well as a fun song by Fox and Branch called "Mamma Don't Allow."

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day and we'll see you for more fun tomorrow!
