BYC 2022, Week 1, Tuesday

Hello everyone!

We snapped a few pix during story and singing time today.
Katie started with some stories as the kids arrived.

If you haven't read Bark George, it's time.
The illustrations are very funny and it has a bit of a surprise ending!

Today's project choices were

On-the-fold painting
Lacing books
Mosaics
Pinch pots with air-dry clay

Lots of pinch pots, lids, a cozy nest and even a llama!

Today we had fun playing with instruments!
We played some songs, including "Old MacDonald had a band"
and even marched our band around the yard.

If you look closely on the bridge, you can see Michael is playing his saxophone.  What a treat.

We then painted with water...a most excellent activity to try at home!  It's fun to see what happens when you paint a variety of surfaces, from basketball hoop poles to lambs ear leaves.
How fast does it evaporate if you're in the sun or shade?
How good does it feel to paint YOURSELF when it's so hot out!?

Next we practiced saying our lines in Goldilocks and the Three Bears with expression!  And last, we danced The Chicken Dance (because once you learn it you must do it often) and Seven Jumps.  In Seven Jumps we end up putting 7 parts on the ground one at a time (knee knee, elbow, elbow, hand, hand) and the grand finale...head!

Have a great afternoon, see you tomorrow!

Oh...a sneak peek at a project for tomorrow...can't wait to show you.
