BYC 2017, week 2, Monday

Happy Monday, everyone!

Every morning at Back Yard Club we begin with stories and songs at the blankets.
After that, we head to the back area for projects!
We always have four choices along with easels to paint and draw at.  Children can look through our nature books if they finish early.

Today's projects were:

Foil painting
Garden sticks
(a Native American tradition--plant it in the earth to thank the earth for its gifts)
Eye masks
Clay pinch pots (or other creations)

Our next activities were spider centered!
We told the story of The Very Busy Spider, drew our own chalk spider webs, and played spider and bug in a yarn web (to show how spiders catch their food, of course)!

Next we told the story of the The Three Billy Goats Gruff, which we will act out (very informally) for our families on Friday.  We ended our day with some folk dancing.  We danced Le Salut (French), The Chicken Dance (German), and Jump Jim Joe (American).
