Week 2, Tuesday

 Today's art choices were

Marble painting
God's eyes
Wind catchers
Playdough, free play

Quite the day for wind catchers!

Here's every body at snack time!

We were so lucky today, one of the kids spotted a cicada molting. Usually we just see the exoskeleton that's left behind, so this was very exciting! Plus at eye level for kids!? Dream come true!

During our nature walk, the small groups came along to check on it. We first saw it half out of the shell, with folded wings.  When we checked back it was fully out and the wings were spread out.  Last, we spotted it with its wings flat to the side, the way they typically stand.  Very very cool.

During our nature walk we looked for great textures; for natural items that would look neat pressed into clay. Here's what we worked on--

After we practiced some of the phrases for our Hermit Crab play, we danced!  We danced a bunch today...Seven Jumps, Les Salut, Floating Down the River, and London Bridge (pictured).

See you all tomorrow!
