Hello everyone and welcome back!
Today was full of precious moments and rainy surprises!
Our project choices were
Yarn painting
Bowl sculptures
Mosaics
Playdough
Easels had do-a-dot markers and Crayola "paint sticks" instead of paint.
We counted down and blasted off like rocket ships toward snack time.
It never ceases to amaze me how much fun kids have running!
After snack time we got word that rain was coming soon. My helpers are AWESOME and knew how to assist and get things under cover.
We first settled in the basement and got acquainted. Nothing fancy down here, just basement-y stuff. EXCEPT, Chinchillas! Charlotte told the kids a little about her pets who have the softest fur in the world!
Next we practiced our play and then got started on some spider activities. We read The Very Busy Spider and played a game where we made a yarn web and took turns acting out how a fly gets caught and eaten in a spider's web!
Next we had a little lesson on how to draw a spider's web and a spider.
Last, we headed up to the garage to dance. We were hoping that the lull in rain meant we could go outside after, but alas, it came back and POURED!
We did get a few dances in though, and our goodbye song.
Our last surprise was actually planned. And planned FOR YOU!
It's our 15th year of Back Yard Club so we bought a little treat to share!
It was a bit of ridiculous comedy trying to get everyone to the cars with umbrellas, projects, water bottles, cupcakes, and KIDS, but you did it!
