Hello families!
I love to snatch pictures through the day and give parents a peek at what their kids are up to.
I hope you enjoy these moments as much as we did!
Every day we start with stories and songs and then move into 45 minutes of free-choice art time. We always have easels set up with paints, crayons, and chalk drawing. We also have 4 other projects that change every day. Today's choices were:
object prints
leather initial necklace
mosaics
free play with clay
After art time we had snack then went on a little leaf-hunt nature walk.
We gathered leaves of different shapes and sizes and used them to make leaf rubbings.
This is a little game where the kids run from one teacher to the other acting like a certain animal. We then have to guess what they were pretending to be. Wow, today they went from horses, monkeys, and turtles to snow leopards and axolotls!
After our water break I read the kids the story we'll be acting out for you on Friday, The Gunniwolf.
Next we headed to "the dancing tree" for dance! Today we learned "Seven Jumps". During part of the song we touch 7 times to the ground, building as we go with each verse.
Knee, knee, elbow, elbow, hand, hand, head!
Then it was time for the Chicken Dance.
Beaks, wings, wiggle, clap!
And dance with a friend!
That about wraps up this week's first day.
