BYC, week 1, Monday

 Hello families!

I love to snatch pictures through the day and give parents a peek at what their kids are up to. 

Here's a little look at day one.

Every day we start with stories and songs and then move into 45 minutes of free-choice art time.  We always have easels set up with paints, crayons, and chalk drawing.  We also have 4 other projects that change every day.  Today's choices were:

wood medallion necklaces

mini paper bag puppets

clay free play

Nature books are available if anyone has extra time.

Next we went on a nature scavenger hunt in two groups. 

During our walk we may have made a spontaneous batch of apple soup!

Each week we put on a simple play for our families and today we read through the story of the week, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. 

For our folk dancing we learned the Chicken Dance, Jump Jim Joe (complete with inner and outer circles!), and The Noble Duke of York.

It was a fantastic first day. See you chickens tomorrow! ;)
