Today's project choices were:
Potato prints
Nature sticks
These are a Native American craft made to show appreciation for nature's gifts. They can be stuck upright in a garden or I like to hang the smaller ones outside from a tree or trellis.
Eye masks
Coil pots
Next we went on a walk to discover evidence of animals living in the back yard. We found holes that frogs make for hibernation, mounds of mud left by frogs, holes and tunnels voles make, trees that squirrels live in, an amazing wasp nest up in a tree, and even rabbit droppings in the back woodsy area. We used "telescopes" and magnifiers to check things out both far and near.
Next we read our story that we're acting out for you on Friday.
We practiced saying all the lines together too.
Last, it was time to dance. We danced (played?) some favorite traditional kids songs.
Presenting Ring around the Rosie (with "cows are in the meadow" to get us all standing again), London Bridge, and The Farmer in the Dell.
