foil painting

God's eyes

painting putty coil pots from earlier this week

clay with stamps and rollers

easel painting becomes do-a-dot-art painting and chalk drawing on Fridays

Two sets of brothers walking over for art time.

Levi made this birthday cake for Will.  Precious faces! Happy birthday, Will!

If some kids come home saying we talked about poop, they're not lying.
You can learn a lot about an animal from that stuff!

So excited about our small group activities, couldn't help but grab a picture of the line-up of supplies.

For our small group outing we took a nature walk looking for different grasses and even a few flowers.  After decorating the vase, we popped them in!  Thanks to our "other" teacher Katie for the fun idea! We also relaxed and discovered with water painting in small groups.

Today we wanted to try having a second free-choice art time.

We offered:

Paint stick  family portraits

(with a new Crayola product I wanted to try)

bracelets with wooden beads

mini-books

giant weaving looms

Only one picture...you'll just have to trust me! ;)

We are ready and excited to show you our play...thanks everyone for coming to see it!

I didn't get pictures of the actual play or picnic, but I know you did!

And introducing our teachers!

Ayla, Charlotte, Aubrey, Eliza K., Katie (also last name Stewart so that doesn't help at all!),

Eliza S., Myself, Tyler, and Emily

Thank you for coming to Back Yard Club...enjoy the rest of your summer!

Week 2, Thursday

Today we sang Sleep Song.  Good night you little  bumblebees, dolpins, um, kitties?  Oh, Children!

Today's project choices were:

mono prints

God's eyes

little woodsies people

clay wall pockets with leaf prints

Some fun sculpting after pockets were finished.

JJ's hands and fun pieces on the bottom left.

After snack we worked on painting the scenery for our play.

We also practiced the play and enjoyed a fun game called jump the river!
Watch out, it gets wider and wider as you play.

Harvey always ended in a tumble act!

See you all tomorrow!
