I snatched a few pictures of our helpers reading to the kids as they came in this morning.
This is Charlotte, Tyler, and Aubrey.
Morgan and Lucy at the check-in table.
Hi Katie!
Today Will brought a leaf fossil replica to show us! It was super cool.
Our project choices today included
fold painting, cool colors
telescopes
woodsies
model magic bugs
Charlotte draws a crowd at the nature book blanket.
To get back for snack we counted down from 10 and took off like rockets.
After snack we split into two groups and went on a "high-low" nature walk with our "telescopes" we made earlier. We look for natural things up high--birds, flying insects, clouds. And look down low for flowers, bugs, squirrels, and other critters.
Ladybug!
Tyler's group found a cicada exoskeleton and he brought it over to show us!
Our group found some acorn pieces under the oak tree. Of course we talked about trees and seeds and how animals help disperse seeds. Then I had to show them what happened to a stash of acorns that a squirrel hid away in a planter and didn't eat. There are about 15 oak seedlings in that pot!
To finish off the day we practiced our play and danced.
We added a French folk dance, Les Salut, to this week's dances.
And here are the teachers!
Me, Tyler, Katie, Eliza, Aubrey, Charlotte, Lucy, and Morgan
